My Education & Experience

Dr. Drea began her undergraduate career at Winston-Salem State University and eventually transferred to Fayetteville State University. She graduated in 1999 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in Telecommunications. After traveling to their first duty station with her husband, an active duty service member, she returned to Fayetteville State, obtained her license in middle grades education, and became a Language Arts Teacher at the middle school level.

Her love for her students and her concern for them academically and as individuals motivated her to return and earn a degree in mental health. She pursued her degree in Community Counseling at Webster University and graduated with a Master's in Community Counseling in 2009. While working towards her degree, she served as a case manager for the developmentally disabled population.

After earning her degree, Dr. Drea became a Licensed Counselor. Soon after becoming licensed, she worked as a substance use couselor in a residential treatment program in the prison setting. Since serving in the prison setting, she has worked for private practice, a community-based program, and has served as a Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC). Her vast experience has prepared her to work within her practice, providing services to her clients as she works hard to ensure that her clients receive the best care possible.

In 2019, she earned her Ph.D. in Advanced Studies in Human Behavior from Capella University. Her motivation and determination to continuously learn pushed her to be the best she can be by adhering to the belief that one can never stop learning. With the importance of learning in mind, she does all that she can to ensure that her clients are knowledgeable concerning their mental health needs and the road to becoming healthier regarding their overall well-being.
